Unwilling to learn from previous mistakes, even more ultra-rich people are tempting fate on the ocean floor.

Last year, the aptly named OceanGate Titan took the lives of five people when it imploded under extreme pressure at the bottom of the sea. People on social media couldn't stop mocking the hubris of these ultra-rich tourists at the time, and now those same critiques are back as another billionaire moves toward Titanic tourism.

The Wall Street Journal originally reported over the weekend that billionaire Larry Connor is hellbent on taking another sub down there to prove all of us haters wrong. The New York Post picked up that story, posted it on X and then the memes started flowing in like seawater.

Unsurprisingly, the response to lavish spending on a deadly vanity project has been raucous. If the billionaires cannot learn from the past, the regular people are content with them routinely blowing themselves up on the ocean floor.
