Your avatar on Teams or Slack is probably a photo of you faking a smile while wearing something bland and business-y, right? Of course it is, and that's exactly why you'll enjoy this TikTok trend that has taken off recently.
The format is simple, and we wouldn't have it any other way. First off, we're presented with a neutral portrait of someone with a caption, like, "who you think you're emailing." A moment later, we're presented with a photo or video clip of that person living their absolute best life, paired with "who you're really emailing."
With examples of late-night partying, drag and cosplay, this TikTok meme gives us an insight into the people we usually see as little more than the friendly faces who make spreadsheets for us.
